The PECO Green Roof Tour

Friday, May 18, 2018

3:00 PM

The Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO), in partnership with the Philadelphia Horticultural Society, developed and maintains the 45,000-square-foot (more than one acre) green roof at its Center City Philadelphia headquarters.  The Roof is on the 8th floor of an adjacent building and offers stunning city views.

Green roofs offer big benefits for the environment. Made of layers of lightweight, absorbent material and covered with tough perennial plants, they retain large quantities of rainwater, reducing runoff that contributes to flooding and water pollution.

We will meet in the building lobby of the PECO Headquarters building at 2301 Market Street at 3:00 PM. The cost of the program is $10, payable at the event.

Please register on-line,  by email at info@pennsvillage.org or by phone 215-925-7333.  Since Penn's Village is responsible for paying PECO for registrants, we ask that, if you decide not to attend, you send us your $10 donation.  Parts of the tour are not handicapped accessible.
