From Laughter to Tears…A Potpourri of Staged Readings
By the Temple University Osher Lifelong Learning Institute’s
Staged Readings Class under the direction of Jean Haskell
Please join us for a special afternoon of staged readings by students in the OLLI program. Each reading will be approximately five minutes and will feature:
John Abrams
, retired public relations executive, writer and amateur improv performer: The Actor by Horton Foote
Bob Bronstein
, resume distributor with prior careers in food brokerage and advertising: “An Ordinary Man” from My Fair Lady, lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner
Maureen Boehm
, retired middle and high school math teacher and counselor: an original selection entitled “Pandemania”
Julia Bruton-Sheppard
, longtime member of OLLI: “It’s Your Birthday,” author anonymous, from Love after 70, a collection of poems and essays
Jeanne Buerkel
, retired at age 85 from business development for architects and general contractors: "Wind and Window Flower” by Robert Frost
Eilen Levinson
, retired librarian who also taught high school drama and English: selection from the movie Precious, based on the novel Push by Sapphire
Barbara Pomerantz

After the readings, there will be time for questions and comments about any of the selections or the Staged Readings class in general.
