Lunch & Books Is Back!
For those of you ready to return to in-person events, Lunch and Books is back with a book guaranteed to spark an animated discussion! We’ll get together for lively conversation (whether you’ve read the whole book or not) and a delicious lunch in an airy space at Positano Coast. This time we’ll read You Don’t Know Me, the bestseller by Imran Mahmood, a British barrister.
It’s easy to judge between right and wrong - or is it? Mahmood’s first novel puts you, the reader, in the jury box at a murder trial. The defendant takes the jury on a rollercoaster ride through London’s gang culture, but is he guilty? That’s for you to decide, because Mahmood leaves the decision to the reader. So keep an open mind until we’ve heard all of the closing arguments and we convene in the “jury room” after lunch to reach a verdict - innocent or guilty
Imran Mahmood
was born in Liverpool, England in 1969 to first generation Pakistani parents. He has been working on the criminal bar in London for over 20 years and regularly appears in jury trials across the country dealing in serious and complex criminal cases.
