Supporting Victims and Families in Buffalo
Our friends at POWER, a grassroots organization of over 50 Pennsylvania congregations committed to racial and economic justice, have asked that we join with them to support the survivors and families impacted by the horrific tragedy in Buffalo last week. They ask that we support their sister organization, VOICE Buffalo, which has been working on the ground there. POWER's Bishop James Royster wrote that we need to do the "hard work of coming to a table of multiple others that allows us to build safe communities. We must cross lines of difference in race, gender, identity, and culture to build an America that works for us. It is too easy to let hate to dominate in this hour... I believe this is the hour for our work to rise above the fray to demonstrate what radical love for our siblings look likes and with determination, 'Change the Damn World!'"
