Thank You, AARP!

For the first time, the AARP of Philadelphia is the lead sponsor for the Penn's Village Garden Party this Wednesday!  We'd like to thank the AARP for supporting Penn's Village, and look forward to them joining us for the event (which unfortunately is sold out).  We have been working with AARP on several local initiatives, and look forward to a strong partnership to help older adults in Philadelphia connect, engage and thrive!

Have a Car?  Interested in Volunteering?

Here is a shout-out to our wonderful Penn's Village transportation volunteers. Transportation volunteers provide rides using their own cars. This may include rides to health appointments, pharmacies and food stores, primarily within and around central Philadelphia. Although most rides are round-trip, they are often divided between two drivers, one for the outward journey and another for the return trip home. These rides are critical to our members who need this kind of assistance. The short time spent driving members can make a tremendous difference in their lives.
  • All driving volunteers must agree to a driving record check, and to provide Penn's Village with a copy of their insurance card, vehicle registration and license.
  •  All driving volunteers are fully vetted, including being interviewed, background checks, etc.
  • All driving volunteers and all members using the service are required to be vaccinated and boosted.
  • After clearance, a volunteer will receive email requests and can volunteer as little or as much as desired.
If you are interested in becoming a transportation volunteer or would like more information, please email us at:
