A Livable Philadelphia for All Ages: AARP’s Local Advocacy & Volunteer Opportunities

About this event

Join Nora Dowd Eisenhower, AARP Pennsylvania’s State Advocacy Volunteer Lead, for a conversation on how older adults can shape Philadelphia’s future through local advocacy.

This session will highlight AARP’s work to create livable communities—focusing on housing, transportation, and neighborhood design—and show how volunteers are making Philadelphia a better place to grow older. Nora will share recent wins, current city-level efforts, and opportunities for Penn’s Village members to get involved. No political experience required—just an interest in making a difference.

About the Presenter
Nora Dowd Eisenhower has dedicated her career to advancing policies that improve the lives of older adults. A former Executive Director of the White House Conference on Aging, she now serves as AARP Pennsylvania’s Volunteer State Advocacy Lead.
