From Our Penn's Village PA Voter Blog: What’s on the 2025 Primary and General Election Ballots in Philadelphia?

As we head into another important election year, you can find a quick guide to the key positions that will be on the ballot in 2025—both in the May Primary Election and the November General Election. Our PA blog author, Eilene Frierson, put together this summary so Penn’s Village members can feel informed and ready to vote!

You can read it here:

A Little Fix Here, A Little Tidy There…

We have been reminding you what makes Penn's Village special—it's the community of care YOU have all built. Our volunteers have signed up not just to help, but because they want to be part of a community that looks out for one another. Below are just a few of the ways we can connect you with a neighbor who has offered to lend a hand. If you are eligible for services, don’t hesitate to call or email us with a request—be as descriptive as possible so we can find the best match for you. And if you’re a volunteer, might you consider expanding the ways you’re willing to help? There are so many ways to make a difference!

That small repair you’ve been meaning to get to? That pile of papers that needs organizing? We have volunteers who love to help with these kinds of things. Maybe your kitchen drawer won’t close properly, or you’ve been meaning to go through old paperwork but could use a hand sorting it all out. Some of our volunteers even enjoy filing! If you need help with light household fixes or organization, just ask—we’ll find someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves.

Service Reminders:

● Villagers can receive up to three services per week (more under special circumstances).

● Neighbors can try out services twice a year—often for tech help or an appointment escort.

● While we fill most requests, some may take time to match with a volunteer, and occasionally, we may be unable to fulfill a request. We work hard to fill about 95% of requests.

● Volunteers assist in ways a friendly neighbor might. If a request is beyond our scope, we may suggest a professional from our provider/resource list.

This is your reminder that you belong to a community that values every member and believes each of us can support each other at all stages. Call the office at 215-925-7333 or email info@pennsvillage.org and tell us, in as much detail as possible, how we can find the right connection for you today.
