An Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

with

Aleezé Sattar Moss, PhD

Thursday March 17th between 2 and 3:30 pm

Many of us spend so much emotional energy on what we should have done in the past or what else could go wrong in the future. In contrast, mindfulness is about living your life in and appreciating now, being open to experience and meeting thepresent moment with kindness and acceptance.

Aleezé Sattar Moss, PhD, is the Associate Director of the Mindfulness Institute of the Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine at Jefferson. Penn’s Village is very fortunate to be “borrowing” her for this workshop, an introduction to Mindfulness Meditation including tips and techniques to start us on the road to a gentler way of being.

Aleezé received extensive training in teaching mindfulness at Jefferson’s Mindfulness Institute and also attended professional training with Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, founder of the Stress Reduction clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She is a senior mindfulness instructor and teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction to groups, individuals, healthcare professionals, medical students and employees in corporate settings. In addition to teaching, she conducts qualitative research on the effects of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction on physical and psychological health and has published in peer-reviewed journals. She is also a certified yoga teacher.

We will meet at 1013 Chestnut Street, in the conference room behind the Integrative Medicine Fitness Program. Please register by calling 215 925 7333 or emailinginfo@pennsvillage.org. This location is handicapped accessible.  The maximum capacity for this program is 25 people. We ask that you register by March 15.
