Tour the Grave Yard at Old Pine Church
Wednesday October 31, 2018 at 10:30AM

Ron Shaffer, Old Pine Church historian, will share his interest and love of the Old Pine churchyard with friends of Penn’s Village.

Many tombstones mark the burial location of some 3,000 late 18th and very early 19th century Philadelphians including: a signer of the U.S. Constitution: 2 colonial printers; over 50 Revolutionary War soldiers; 1 Tory (oops!); a ringer of the Liberty Bell. There is a lovely Memorial Garden and adjacent to that, the world-famous orchestra conductor Eugene Ormandy, and his wife Gretel.

Old Pine Church is located at 4th and Pine Streets. Afterwards, if you are interested, we will walk to Positano Coast located at 212 Walnut Street for lunch. Please RSVP by emailing info@pennsvillage.org and let us know if you will be joining for lunch afterwards. If emailing is inconvenient, you may also call 215.925.7333.

There is no charge for Penn’s Village members and volunteers.  We would appreciate a $5 donation from other guests.  Other guests are welcome to attend three programs before joining and/or volunteering.
