Have you ever wondered what is the easiest way to figure out your transportation options? Well, the answer is literally right in the palm of your hand – your smart phone. Yes, your smart phone does more than make phone calls and send and receive emails and text messages.  It can also be your personal concierge for transportation services. If you ride public transit or have thought about using car share services such as Uber and Lyft, then there is an app for you. Penn’s Village volunteers will teach you how to use smart phone applications to better use Philadelphia area transit and ride share services. For transit we will show you how to determine the best transit options to get you to where you need to go using the SEPTA app and another transit app. You can find out when the bus or rail options will arrive, how far they are from you, and you can even set up favorites for regular trips. For ride share we can show you how to sign up for and use these services.  The workshop will provide an overview of these services as well as hand-on support. What do you have to lose other than being stuck at home?

An overview of how to use these popular smart phone applications that provide transportation services will be provided as well as one-on-one assistance in setting up and using the apps.

Join Penn's Village in the MacColl Room at The First Presbyterian Church, 201 S. 21st Street (entrance on 21st Street). The building is handicapped accessible. Kindly let us know in advance if you need this.
