Strategies to Guard Against the
Negative Effects of Information Technology on Thinking
Tuesday, July 9, 2019
2:00 PM

Retired professor of pediatrics, Dr. Balu Athreya, has always been interested in the evolution of thoughts and concepts in history and in medicine. His major area of research as a pediatric professor was "how the mind thinks" and "how information technology impacts the brain, our thinking and our daily lives." He has practiced meditation for over 45 years and writes blogs on www.timeforthought.net. He is currently living at Cokesbsury Village, a continuous care community.

His program will cover thinking skills for the digital generation and how Information technology can have negative effects on thinking. He will provide an explanation of how these negative effects can develop followed by a discussion of strategies to prevent the negative effects.

We will meet in the MacColl Room on the second floor First Presbyterian Church, 201 S. 21st Street, entrance on 21st Street. If you will be needing the handicapped entrance, kindly let us know in advance.

Please register by emailing info@pennsvillage.org or by calling 215-925-7333. There is no charge for Penn’s Village members and volunteers. We would appreciate a $5 donation from other guests. Other guests are welcome to attend three programs before joining and/or volunteering.
