The Biology of Aging With Special Guest Dr. Pete Slavin

August 18, 2020

Just how and why does our body age? Is aging an inevitable part of life or a disease to be cured? Despite what some TV infomercials say, the process of aging is a fact and cannot be changed or stopped. Or can it?

Our speaker addressed some of the leading theories of senescence (the condition or process of deterioration with age) and described what is happening at a cellular and molecular level. If we learn more about the biological mechanics of aging, can we do something about it?

We hope you enjoyed a fascinating exploration of this topic.

Dr. Pete Slavin is an adjunct professor in the Biology Department at Rowan College in Burlington County, NJ.
