Heart Healthy Living
Physical changes that happen with age may increase a person's risk of heart disease. A major cause of heart disease is the buildup of fatty deposits in the walls of arteries over many years.
The good news is there are things you can do to delay, lower, and possibly avoid or reverse your risk. Dr. Howard Julien of Penn Medicine will explain why exercise and nutrition are the most strongly recommended steps you can take to improve your cardiovascular health.
Howard M. Julien, M.D., M.P.H. is Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. He is Board-certified in cardiovascular disease and in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Julien describes himself as an “amateur baker, knitter, tinkerer and non-invasive cardiologist.” He is a graduate of City College of New York, received his Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University and his M.D. from Albany Medical College.
