At-Home Screening for Balance and Fall Prevention

As we know, falls can have serious health consequences, particularly for older adults.

This program will describe a mobile application developed by Excel Physical Therapy that can be easily used on phones, tablets or other devices. The application allows users to screen themselves for problems with balance and risk of falling.

It will also provide information on how to identify the potential for falls, educate users on what causes common falls, and provide tips on how to avoid them. The importance of a strengthening and balance program in preventing falls will be stressed.

Mide Babaloa is an Assistant Clinic Director at Excel Physical Therapy in Society Hill. He is a graduate of the University of the Sciences and certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation. He is also LSVT-BIG Therapy Certified, Orthopedic Myofascial Release Certified, and co-published capstone research on patellofemoral osteoarthritislass in 2015.
