Hallucinogen? Psychotropic? Medicinal? Undrinkable? Absinthe may be the most creatively labeled drink in history. You’ll learn why, and much more about this fabled beverage in this presentation. Daniele Easton will cover the rise and fall of the drink that inspired many European artists between 1830 and 1915, before it was banned in most countries at the onset of World War One. The program will include a tasting, after which you can choose your own absinthe adjective!
This will be an in-person event in the MacColl Room of the First Presbyterian Church, 201 S. 21st St., at the southeast corner of Walnut. The entrance is at the rear of the building off of 21st St. There is a handicapped accessible entrance off of Chancellor St. behind the building.
Registration is required before Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM
Registration cancellations will be accepted until Monday, May 13, 2024 at 8:00 AM
