The Eclipse is Coming!  The Eclipse is Coming!

While Philadelphia may not be in the path of totality, with any luck our area will have a good view of a partial eclipse on Monday, April 8.  So grab your special glasses and join an eclipse party near you:

Sponsored by Philadelphia City Institute at the Goat Statue in Rittenhouse Square beginning at 3PM, watch the partial solar eclipse and enjoy stories and other eclipse-related activities for children and families! Viewing glasses will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Or watch at the Franklin Institute during their Eclipse Viewing Party, starting at 1:30 pm. Find out more here: Franklin Institute Eclipse Party.

Jazz Up Your Tuesday at Fountainview at Logan Square!

Our friends at Fountainview at Logan Square invite you to join them for jazz, cocktails and snacks on Tuesday, April 9 at 3:30PM in the 4th floor piano bar at Fountainview, 2 Franklin Towne Blvd.  Relax and enjoy music from Vibe-A-Delphia while celebrating Jazz Appreciation Month!  RSVP to Derrick Manley at dmanley@fountainviewlogansquare.com or 267-921-0092.

"Chucky's Hunch" on YouTube Features Penn's Village Connections

The play "Chucky's Hunch," written by Penn's Village member Rochelle Owens, was performed on Broadway in the 1980's (you can find the New York Times review here).  Recently, Rochelle worked with fellow member Charlie Berliner to produce a video from the stage play, and it is now available on YouTube. In this powerful and riveting performance, the miserable would-be artist Chucky unburdens himself in a series of monologues in the form of letters to the second of his three ex-wives.  You can watch "Chucky's Hunch" here:
